Our History
Our church was founded in 1988 by Pastor William Bishop. Pastor Bishop answered the call to minister to his community and founded Beacon Baptist Church alongside his wife Joan Bishop. Beacon Baptist Church was started in the pastor's garage and then moved into a rented building in downtown Rogersville. Eventually, the Church was able to build its own building and worked for many years to pay the building off which they accomplished. Our congregation may be small, but our faith is strong. "He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much" Luke 16:10, King James Bible, 1611).

Our History
We are an independent, fundamental, King James Version Bible-believing Baptist Church. The church's current calling is to support as many missionaries as possible, providing monthly support to over 30 missionaries serving the Lord in foreign nations. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have to heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?" (Romans 10:14-14, King James Bible, 1611).

We hold Sunday School for adults and children every Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. Mrs. Darian Cox (M.Ed.) teaches our children's church from ages 2-12. We strive to instill a love of God and each other in our children. Mr. Aaron Bishop is currently teaching the adult Sunday school class. We strive to take a deeper look into God's word. "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (II Timothy 2:13, King James Bible, 1611). Our main church service begins at 11:00 a.m.
